Things to do in Autumn/Winter

Hello!

I though I would just do a post on a couple of things that you could do in autumn/winter. It's kind-of like a 'things to do when you're bored' but specifically for winter.

1. Decorate your room/house with autumnal things. Louise or Sprinkle of Glitter as her blog is called, did a lovely post on some ideas to decorated her home for autumn. I loved what she had found and this is kind-of what i meant by decorating the house. Of course, when it comes to Christmas the decorations will become more... Christmasy!

2. Have a movie marathon. full stop.

3. Write a blog. Winter is the perfect time to do things on your computer (like writing a blog) because usually the weather isn't very nice or it's extremely cold!

4. Learn something new. Whether it be an online course, a musical instrument or a new sport (preferably done inside!) winter is a good time to learn new things because there is less going on!

5. Set yourself a challenge for something like to reach the splits by Christmas day or get a six pack etc. but make sure if u do go for the splits, do stretches and pulse raising first!

6. Read a new book. I know reading for some people can be a bit of a chore but once you get into a good book you will be so happy u started reading it!

7. Go shopping. If you love shopping and you want to stock up on winter clothing (providing you have enough money) why don't you fill up your wardrobe with wintery stuff!

8. Go camping and make a bonfire. A Campfire with roasted marshmallows; a winter must have.

9. Take on a project. Set yourself a big winter project like to completely re-decorate your room etc. at least the you are doing something useful and hopefully worthwhile!

10. Take some photos. If you have a 'snazzy' camera or even if you don't, go and take some pictures of the lovely autumnal colours and/or of yourself in these surroundings!

11. Go to the Zoo. I know this sounds crazy for something to do in winter because its cold outside so the animals will be preserving energy and trying to keep warm. I have heard that the animals at Longleat are actually more active in winter! (not sure if true) Longleat does also have lovely things on in the winter so i think it is a must-go !!

12. Write a blog post on other things to do in winter because really mine are not the most interesting of all and comment if you do do a post!

Hope this gives you a few ideas!!

Halloween Costume Ideas

Hello!

I thought I would just give you a few (i say few) ideas for halloween costumes. First I will do some for slightly older children, which can also be younger children's costumes as well. Then at the end i will do a few younger costumes for if you decide to dress up your younger sibling!!

VAMPIRE - Grab a cloak/cape, some black clothes and some red contacts. Do a vampire-y like face paint and some fake-blooded fangs!

ZOMBIE - Paint the whole of your face and neck white with red all down from your mouth to your neck. White contacts add a great effect!

FRANKENSTEIN - Paint your face and neck again but with green and draw scars from stitching all over it, and one around the neck. If you can, make your shoulders very broad and square!

GHOST - There are two ways of doing this:

Sheet ghost - Get an old sheet, preferable white and drape it over you, i suggest cutting eye holes! This also means if its cold and rainy you can dress up appropriately underneath and not ruin your costume!

Ghost of a person - Wear normal clothes but maybe rip then or put dirt on them if they are old. Then use extremely pale foundation to get a washed out look and then some big under-eye bags and pale lips to make the character look lifeless!

PERSON STABBED - Get an old t-shirt and trousers and cut knife like slits in them and paint red around the edges. Then also paint red where you can see through the slits. Maybe do some 'dead' make-up too!

MUMMY - Maybe not toilet paper if you want your costume to still be in place by the end of it! I suggest old material! The rest is quite self explanatory!

POTTER HEAD? - If you have a Hogwarts robe of some sort and some appropriate accessories why don't you go as a witch/wizard from Harry Potter!

RANDOM RED AND BLACK COSTUME - Many girls like to do this, get a red or black tutu and some ripped/holed tights and a red or black top. Then spend ages on your hair and make-up to make it look as halloween-y as possible! (sorry the picture isn't really like what i said but i hope you get the idea!)

Now for some of the costumes slightly younger people may want to wear. I am not saying that it is weird for older people to wear these, I just think that maybe these are slightly more childish and less scary costumes!

PUMPKIN - aww too cute! Get your sibling a cute pumpkin costume and they are good to go!

WITCH - This is also a good one for older people but i think i put it in this section because when i think of them i think witch dress up costume and sparkly cobweb tights!

DEVIL - I think this is also a good one for older people but again i have seen too many red sparkly dresses with orange fire like frills and a massive plastic fork thing that comes with it!

CAT - Draw on some cute whiskers and a nose, attach a fluffy tail to a brown/black catsuit all in one and (again) your good to go!

PIRATE - This is very much a boys one but, i think the easiest is to find a pirate costume although you could do homemade style and rip some stripy clothing ;)

SKELETON - Wear some black clothes and get someone to paint your face with bones/skull!

Those are all i can think of! I hope that helped, and i am sorry i didn't put many pictures in but I didn't want to make it too long and i (tbh) didn't really want some scary pictures 'haunting' my blog post! (not that a baby pumpkin is at all scary!)

Hope you enjoy halloween !!!!

Youtube

Okay, so i'm not a youtube geek, but i do enjoy watching it. I am not one of the people who know every single you-tuber in the world, and I have probably missed out millions of videos that are amazing, but these are just videos i found funny, cute, interesting, and worth watching. If there are any that you think are worth watching, comment them!! Or do a post of your own!!
(they are in no specific order)

1. Loca the pug that couldn't run, this is so so cute !!

2. Zoella and sprinkle of glitter. There are so many amazing youtubers but the two I probably watch the most are these. They also both have blogs!!

3. Life is for living:parkour and free running. This video is just amazing! The people doing this must be very talented and brave! They deserve more attention!!(I love things like dance, gymnastics and sport, so i apologise in advance if some of my video suggestions are sport  related!)

4. Bart Baker parodies. There are lots of different people who do parodies but for me these ones stood out. Some can be a bit rude though! http://www.youtube.com/user/BartBaKer

5. MattyBraps ! I know he is a very young boy but he has amazing talent: he can rap, sing and look cute !!

6. Erifilly111 : Erifilly is an 11 (i think) yr old girl and is the most amazing young gymnast ever !!(sorry, because this only really appeals to gymnasts but still!) She is beautiful to watch and is amazing !!

7. Rhett and Link: i love these guys videos they are so good !! especially the T-shirt war !!

Those were just a couple of things i enjoy watching. As i have said there are lots more so i couldn't include all of them !! hope you will enjoy watching them xx
